BBC's The Paradise

I came across the BBC's series The Paradise. Its set in 1870 and its about England's first department store and of course there is plenty love, drama and fashion. I am half way through the second season and have become completely engrossed in the series. Sadly they have not renewed it for a third season but its still worth watching. Its a fun period show that reminds me of Downton Abbey. They also have Selfridges which I haven't watched yet but once I finish The Paradise I will have to check that one out and see if its any good. I love these period shows, I love the romance of them. It makes me want to go to England, put on a fancy hat and sip some tea.

Sun Spot Treatment

I just had my first IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatment for sun spots on my face. I was able to get a great deal through Groupon and I have noticed more spots popping up on my face so I decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to expect, I had never talked to anyone who had had an IPL before. First they have you come in for a consultation where they explained what would happen during the treatment and what type of results I could expect. I was told the zap of the light would feel like a rubber band snapping on my face, it would be red and possibly swollen afterwards, the dark spots would actually get worse before they got better. The IPL draws the dark spots up to the surface of the skin making them even darker, giving your skin a little bit of a coffee grinds look then the dark spots will flake off. Growing Old Gracefully

I once heard a family friend say that she was going to embrace her growing older, let nature take its course and accept whatever comes with open arms. I say forget that! I decided a long time ago that I was going to fight aging every step of the way. I say it‘s ok to dye your hair to cover that gray. Put on a little more makeup to hide those age spots on your face and what is wrong with plucking a few chin hairs, believe me we would all appreciate that. That way when we are talking to you we won’t be starting at them instead of paying attention to what you are saying. You know it’s true, your eyes are going to keep going back to those hairs.
